Welcome Friends.

As Chief of Police, I believe that one of the most important principles and cornerstones of public safety and service is the responsibility of law enforcement to protect and serve the citizens who are most vulnerable: the youth, the elderly and those with special needs.

It was once said that “the moral test of government is how it treats those who are in the dawn of life – the children; those who are in the twilight of life – the aged; and those who are in the shadows of life – the sick, the needy and the handicapped.”  I believe that this quote exemplifies the philosophy of the men and women of the Alvin Police Department.

The Alvin Police Department is a progressive, community-oriented and problem-solving law enforcement agency.  Our community-oriented policing program is a philosophy and an organizational strategy that encourages a working partnership between the police and the citizens of the community.

This cherished relationship is built on a mutual trust and rests on the belief that law-abiding citizens deserve input into the police process through citizen participation and support.  We believe that the Department’s philosophy serves as a catalyst in encouraging citizens to share in the opportunity to enhance their public safety and the quality of life in Alvin, Texas.

The community-oriented policing program offers a personalized service to our citizens, encourages volunteerism and uses creative ideas to address the concerns of the community.  We have been blessed with a few successful programs during the last several years and we look forward to a couple of promising new ones that are currently in the planning stages.

Please take a moment to learn more about these remarkable programs by clicking on their respective links on the left side of your screen.

In closing, I am honored to have had the opportunity to spend the last fifteen years as the Chief of Police for the Alvin Police Department.  I have enjoyed working with the devoted law enforcement personnel at the Department who expend many tireless hours protecting and serving their community.

I have enjoyed my friendships and professional relationships with the leaders of our neighboring agencies, specifically Chief Doyle of Pearland, Chief Weiner of Friendswood, Chief Daniel of League City, Chief Garcia of Manvel and Chief Tacquard of the Alvin Community College.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the dedicated men and women of the Alvin Police Department for a job “above and beyond” the call of duty.  And most certainly, I wish to thank all of the citizens who have volunteered hundreds of hours for the Department and the community.  Their work has been very impressive and extremely beneficial.
